2. Collecting and storing personal data, as well as type and purpose of use

a) When visiting the website, information is automatically sent by the browser you use on your end device to our website servers. This information is temporarily stored in a ‘log file’. The following information is collected without any action on your part and stored until it is automatically deleted:

  • the IP address of the accessing machine;
  • the date and time of access;
  • the name and URL of the file retrieved;
  • the website visited before accessing our website (referrer URL); and
  • the browser used and possibly also your machine’s operating system, as well as the name of your access provider.

 

The specified data is processed by us for the following purposes:

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter f of the GDPR. Our legitimate interests are based on the above-mentioned purposes for collecting data. We never use the data collected to personally identify you.

 

b) When subscribing to our newsletter If you have given your explicit consent under Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter a of the GDPR, we use your email address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. You simply have to provide an email address to receive newsletters.

You can unsubscribe at any time, for example by using the link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send your request to unsubscribe to the above-mentioned contact details, either by email, fax or by post, at any time.

 

c) When using our contact form If you have any questions, we give you the option of contacting us via the form provided on the website. You must provide a valid email address so that we know who the request came from and are able to respond to it. You can provide more information on a voluntary basis.

Data processing for the purposes of you contacting us takes place on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter a of the GDPR, if your voluntary consent has been given. Personal data collected by us when the contact form is used is automatically erased once your request has been resolved.

Your personal data is not shared with third parties for purposes other than those listed below. We only share your personal data with third parties if:

  • you have given us your explicit consent to do so under Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter a of the GDPR;
  • it must be shared under Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter f of the GDPR to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in your data not being shared;
  • if there is a legal obligation to share data under Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter c of the GDPR; or

We use cookies to operate the website. Cookies are files that your browser saves on your end device when you visit our website. We use them to store data relating to your visit and for the purposes of recognition, as well as for statistical recording, improvements and guaranteeing the operation of our website. If Google Adwords Conversion Tracking is used, a cookie will be saved on your device if you access this page by clicking on a Google ad. This is used to analyse and statistically evaluate the use of the website. The cookie is valid for 30 days. No personal identification is made, however an observation is made as to whether the user accessed the page via a Google ad. You can prevent this use by disabling these cookies in your browser settings.

Plug-ins, links and buttons for social media websites are used for advertising and informational purposes, on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter f of the GDPR. The embedding of these elements means that data is sent to the corresponding social media provider when the page is accessed, and data may also be sent to third countries. This data is saved and processed by the providers, and in particular, a provider is able to recognise website visits if you are signed into that social media provider at the time. When you ‘share’ or otherwise pass on (‘like’) posts on our website in a social network, this is sent to the provider and saved, possibly also in your user profile. Social networks use this data for commercial purposes, marketing, advertising and other purposes, with particular reference to creating profiles for you and providing personalised adverts.

We have integrated components from Twitter on our website. 7. Newsletter data


If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. This does not affect data that we have stored for other purposes.

After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored in a blacklist by us or the newsletter service provider in order to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. You have the right:

  • to request information about your personal data that is processed by us, pursuant to Article 15 of the GDPR.   • to object against your personal data being processed pursuant to Article 21 of the GDPR, provided that there are reasons that relate to your particular situation or provided that the objection is against direct marketing. If the latter applies, you have a general right to object, which is processed by us without having received details concerning a particular situation. You have the option of objecting by phone, email or fax, or by sending a letter to our office’s postal address, which is given at the start of this privacy policy.

 

8. Data security

To guarantee data security, our website’s content is encrypted using SSL, in line with the state of technological knowledge. To secure data, we take measures in line with the state of technological knowledge, with particular reference to restricting access to data, protection against alterations and loss, and for confidentiality reasons. These measures are also taken by service providers we commission, and we have concluded corresponding contractual agreements with these service providers.
